Miss Miriam Essak

Infant Teacher

Miss Miriam Essak graduated in 2007 from Oakland University with an Elementary Education degree. This degree carries specialization in Language Arts and science.

Miriam has been working at St. Mary CDC for 7 years as a teacher assistant and now lead teacher; also assisting St. Mark Academy with substitution and tutoring. She believes that all children, including infants, are prospective learners and takes advantage of that.

In the infant room, Miriam unitizes all styles of music including classical and French lullabies. Miriam also has invented an “Infant Word Wall” which consists of important basic first words and their corresponding pictures. Along with the word wall, there is an “ABC Wall” which is also adding to the infant vocabulary.

Cleanliness in an Infant Room is extremely important. This is recognized by proper documentation of all cleaning procedures including diaper changes.

In her spare time, Miriam enjoys reading, and spending time with friends and family. Currently, Miriam is obtaining a second degree as a registered nurse from Oakland University with a graduation date of May 2011.
